Description of the Rowafil GRU system: Water recycling

May be you have already red our brochure of the Rowafil systems, but let me very briefly describe the process.

The wastewater from the wash bay is coming together in the wash bay gully and flows from there into a sludge pit (recommended contents: 3-6 m³). From the sludge pit the water will overflow into a pump pit, which has about the same size as the sludge pit. In this pit we will place the grinder pump (this is a submersible pump with knives at the bottom). By the grinderpump the wastewater will be transported to our GRU recycling unit.

It will firstly pass the hydrocyclone for filtration. The filtered water (90%) will continue to flow to the storage tank. The remaining water (10%) with the concentrated dirt will flow back to the sludge pit. The filtration process achieves a value of 10 micron (0,01 mm). The remaining water is not wasted, but stays in the process. The concentrated dirt particles will settle down in the sludge pit. The filtered water passes through the storage tank, which is aerated by a small air blower on the front of the GRU unit and aeration tiles on the bottom of the storage tank. A 3 level control system will keep the storage tank filled by switching the grinderpump on and off.

From the storage tank the water can be pumped with a separate feed pump (not included) to the carwash.

All particles will be taken out of the waste water. The chemicals, shampoo and wax, will stay in the water; everything that is suspended.

The end result will be cleaned water suitable for reuse in the wash bay; pre washing, chassis washing or high pressure washing. Standard capacity is 4000 ltr per hour.

If some local situation with existing pits and / or interceptors deviates from the advised situation as indicated above, details should be send over and we will study them for a full engineering into the most ideal installation based upon the given data.
